For years, furnished tourist accommodation has been very successful with the public who
considers them to be an ideal accommodation solution, for holidays, for a weekend
end, for a business trip or to visit friends or family.
What is a furnished tourist accommodation?
The furnished tourist accommodation is a furnished house, apartment or studio, for use exclusive to the tenant, rented to a passing clientele who spends a stay there characterized by a rental for the day, week or month and who does not take up residence there (Code of Tourism – Art D324-1).
The rental period for the same person cannot exceed 90 days or 12 weeks
consecutive (Art 1-1 Hoguet Law n°70-9 of January 2, 1970).
The classification is voluntary and not obligatory, it is awarded for a period of 5 years. For to be classified, the furnished tourist accommodation must meet the criteria of the classification reference system following the decree of November 24, 2021 amending the decree of August 2, 2010.
This framework includes 133 control criteria divided into three chapters:
- Equipment and arrangements,
- Customer services,
- Accessibility and sustainable development.
